North Yorkshire Council in Harrogate is seeking a Temporary Accommodation Officer to manage the day-to-day operation of our temporary housing for homeless households. You will handle sign-up paperwork, explain occupancy terms, and oversee cash collection securely.

Harrogate Locality but may need to cover areas within North Yorkshire if necessary.
We are looking for a Temporary Accommodation Officer to join our Housing Service supporting the residents in our temporary Housing in Harrogate.
As our Temporary Accommodation Officer , you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Council's temporary accommodation for homeless households.
You will e nsur e all relevant paperwork is completed at sign up, fully explaining the conditions of occupancy to the resident and are responsible for organising the collection of temporary accommodation charges from residents in the council's own temporary accommodation, where it is necessary to take cash, responsibility for its security whilst on the premises and the safe transformation to the council's cash collection/bank should be carried out in accordance with the council's Cash Control Code of Conduct.
You will also ensure breaches of licence within temporary accommodation are resolved promptly and satisfactorily in accordance with the council's approved policies and procedures, recommending Possession action to the Team leaders where appropriate. Carry out evictions in line with North Yorkshire Council policy.
You will also c arr y out housing management functions for temporary accommodation, arranging the inspection of void properties from vacation, clearance, gas and electrical safety checks, repairs and lettings, to ensure vacancy periods and income loss are minimised.
