Job summary

Swindon Borough Council is seeking an Accommodation Officer to join the Accommodation Team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will support households placed in temporary accommodation, help tenants sustain their housing, and work to meet statutory homelessness obligations.

You will manage a portfolio of temporary properties, conduct sign ups, carry out inspections, and communicate with landlords to keep properties in good condition. Driving licence and fluent English are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in English (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act)
• Driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential for this role

Responsibilities

• Sign ups and tenancy initial setups.
• Carry out property inspections and ensure rent is paid.
• Ensure tenancy agreements are adhered to and contact landlords as needed.
• Provide high-quality support to tenants, including those with complex needs.
