Job summary

Barker Ross Group is seeking an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager for a fast-paced, temperature-controlled logistics operation in the UK. You will oversee safe, efficient storage and distribution of food and pharmaceutical products, leading a team and coordinating with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

You will drive continuous improvement, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with relevant standards while delivering high service levels.

Qualifications

Extensive experience in managing temperature-controlled warehouse operations.
Proven leadership and ability to develop teams.
Experience with WMS and ERP systems.
Knowledge of HACCP, GDP and MHRA standards is advantageous.
Budgeting and cost-control experience.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end warehouse operation, including receipt, storage and dispatch.
Lead and develop the warehouse team with clear expectations and accountability.
Plan staffing, shifts and resources to meet changing volumes.
Drive performance using KPIs with regular reviews.
Maintain temperature controls and product quality throughout storage.
Ensure compliance with food and pharmaceutical standards and audit readiness.
Identify operational risks, investigate deviations and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with transport, procurement and other operational teams to minimise disruption.
Utilise WMS/ERP and temperature-monitoring systems to improve accuracy and visibility.
Own the warehouse budget and manage labour, equipment and maintenance costs.
Provide clear performance reporting and forecast future needs.
