Job summary

RedRock Resourcing in Cardiff is seeking an experienced Technology Manager to lead the IT function, combining hands-on technical leadership with strategic oversight of operations.

You will work closely with managed service providers, vendors and internal teams to maintain service delivery, governance, controls and continuous improvement, while translating complex concepts into business terms for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Hands-on IT management experience in security‑sensitive environments.
• Experience administering Microsoft 365 and Azure AD.
• Proven track record with enterprise applications and CRM systems.
• Strong cybersecurity knowledge, especially Defender technologies.
• Experience with governance, controls and auditability.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day IT operations and service delivery with MSPs and vendors.
• Translate technical concepts into business language for stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement, governance, and control maturity.

A leading organisation in the Cardiff area requires an experienced Technology Manager to join its growing IT function.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role overseeing day-to-day IT operations, working closely with managed service providers, vendors and internal teams to maintain effective service delivery, strong controls and continuous improvement.

• Strong and recent experience within a hands-on IT mangement role.
• Strong hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 and Azure Active Directory environments.
• Experience of managing/integrating business systems and enterprise applications (e.g. CRM or internal platforms).
• Good understanding of cybersecurity principles, including experience with Microsoft Defender technologies.
• Experience working within regulated or security-sensitive environments with emphasis on governance, controls and auditability.
• Experience of introducing AI (and guidleines/controls) beneficial
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business language.
• Exeperience of working closely with both verndors/suppliers.
