Job summary

Matchtech is seeking an IT Manager in London to lead a hands-on IT function. You will manage a small internal team, own service delivery, and drive ITIL-aligned improvements across Microsoft 365, Azure, security, and infrastructure.

The role requires technical involvement and leadership in a mid-sized environment. You’ll oversee critical projects, vendor management, and resilience planning while remaining hands-on with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Defender, and reporting tools.

IT Manager

London

We're exclusively supporting a highly respected London based organisation in the search for a hands on IT Manager to lead their internal technology function.

This is not a role for someone who wants to sit in meetings all day.

It's for an IT Manager who enjoys leading people, owning technology operations and remaining technically involved across a modern Microsoft environment.

You’ll manage a small team, take ownership, lead critical technology projects and act as the senior technical escalation point across the business.

If you’re someone who still enjoys getting into Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune or Defender whilst leading a team and driving improvements, this is the opportunity you’ve been looking for.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop the internal IT team
• Own service delivery, escalations and operational performance
• Drive ITIL best practice, service improvements and user satisfaction
• Manage third-party suppliers, partners and technology vendors
• Support project delivery and business technology initiatives
• Act as the senior escalation point for complex technical issues

Microsoft Cloud & Modern Workplace

• Administer and optimise Microsoft 365
• Manage Azure infrastructure and cloud services
• Own Microsoft Entra ID, identity and access management
• Manage Intune and endpoint security policies
• Administer Microsoft Defender and security tooling
• Support and develop SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams environments
• Manage Exchange Online and email security policies

Infrastructure & Resilience

• Manage backup, disaster recovery and business continuity processes
• Oversee patching, monitoring and infrastructure lifecycle management
• Support networking, cloud and endpoint technologies
• Ensure systems remain secure, resilient and highly available

Package

£65,000 - £75,000 Basic Salary
