Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Walton-on-Thames is seeking a Level 3 qualified mechanic for a permanent role in our busy vehicle workshop. You will perform inspections, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs on a wide range of vehicles, trailers and equipment, using your own toolkit.

You will work 39.5 hours with rotating shifts, and there is potential to earn £50,000–£55,000 per year with overtime, plus a pension, holidays, training and PPE provided.

Qualifications

• Qualified mechanic with Level 3 in Light or Heavy vehicle or equivalent.
• Own toolkit for standard repairs.
• Experience on a wide range of vehicles, e.g. LCV/HGV.
• Full UK manual driving licence; HGV with trailer preferred.
• High standards and flexible to service demands.
• EVs and MOT testing experience advantageous; training available.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs on vehicles, trailers and equipment.
• Use personal toolkit for routine maintenance and repairs on light/heavy goods vehicles.
• Access to specialised tooling in modern workshops.

We're recruiting a Level 3 qualified mechanic at Walton On ThamesWorkshop on a Permanentcontract, with the potential to earn up to £50,000 - £55,000 per annum including overtime.

Working Hours: Full time - 39.5 hours per week, rotating shift pattern. Week 1 06:00 - 14:24 and Week 2 09:36 - 18:00

• You’ll perform a full range of inspections, diagnostic, maintenance, and repair procedures on a range of vehicles, trailers, and mechanical equipment.
• You’ll use your own personal toolkit to undertake routine maintenance and repair light / heavy goods vehicles.
• You’ll also have access to specialist tooling and shared equipment in our modern, fully equipped workshops.

A bit about you

• Qualified mechanic: you're fully qualified to an advanced level (Level 3 in Light or Heavy vehicle or equivalent). You've got your own toolkit for standard repairs.
• Varied vehicle experience: Proven Vehicle Technician experience working on a wide range of vehicles, for example LCV / HGV.
• Valid UK driving licence: You hold a full manual UK driving licence, preferably an HGV licence with trailer experience.
• High working standards: you take pride in your work and do what is necessary to make sure the job is done effectively.
• Flexible to service demands: you're able to work on a flexible shift rota. You're always willing to support your team where necessary.
• Experienced in EVs and MOT testing (advantageous) , however training can be provided.
