Overview

Our client has a vacancy for a Technical Sales Support Engineer with a strong mechanical bias to support customers and the sales force for technical matters. Technical support will cover the mechanical product range, specialising in pneumatics, actuators and vacuums. Commercial and market awareness of company product offering, supporting sales growth by training and proactive promotion of existing and new products. The focus for this role is mechanical products, although the electrical/electronic interaction is becoming increasingly common.

Responsibilities
  • Support for customer questions via phone and email
  • Process requests for special products and variations
  • Analyse, check and report on customer product returns
  • Product management including training, new product introduction and supersession of discontinued product ranges
  • New product development proposal activity
  • Market and competitor product analysis and understanding
  • Supporting sales force with customer visits and application development
Requirements
  • Degree, HNC or HND Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Able to communicate proficiently via telephone and email
  • Methodical problem solver who is logical, organised and able to keep clear comprehensive records
  • Experience working in an Engineering environment
  • Hands-on testing and diagnostic experience
  • Experience handling multiple projects with ability to prioritise, manage own time and meet deadlines
  • Ability to clearly and effectively present technical subjects, face to face and via webinar
