Job summary

Greys Specialist Recruitment is seeking a Technical Sales Advisor for its Tonbridge head office. The role focuses on delivering expert technical guidance, preparing quotations and supporting sales across waterproofing and related construction products.

The successful candidate will engage with contractors, engineers and specifiers, providing phone and face-to-face advice, and will manage trade counter enquiries while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years' experience in the construction industry.
• Strong technical knowledge of structural waterproofing systems.
• Experience working in a trade counter or technical sales environment.
• Ability to provide technical advice both over the phone and face-to-face.
• Solid IT skills including CRM and ERP systems (NetSuite advantageous).
• Ability to commute to Tonbridge office daily.
• CSSW accreditation (desirable).
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical sales support via telephone and in-person at the trade counter.
• Advise customers on waterproofing systems and related construction products.
• Prepare quotations and recommend practical, compliant solutions.
• Liaise with suppliers regarding technical information and pricing.
• Identify sales opportunities and maintain CRM/ERP records.
• Support customers across a range of specialist products (waterproofing membranes, cavity drain systems, liquid-applied waterproofing, damp proofing, ground gas protection, concrete repair systems, pumping solutions).
• Build and maintain relationships with contractors, engineers and specifiers.
• Manage daily trade counter enquiries with high-quality technical support.

A well-established and highly respected specialist within the construction industry is looking to appoint an experienced Technical Sales Advisor to join its team at its Tonbridge head office.

With decades of expertise supplying market-leading structural waterproofing and building protection solutions, this business has built an outstanding reputation for technical excellence, product quality and customer service.

Working across commercial, civil engineering and residential construction projects, they partner with contractors, engineers and specifiers throughout the UK.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong technical understanding of structural waterproofing products who enjoys providing expert advice, building customer relationships and supporting sales from an office-based environment.

The Role

As a Technical Sales Advisor, you'll be the first point of contact for customers, providing technical guidance over the phone and at the trade counter while recommending the most suitable products and solutions for each project.

Working closely with customers and supply partners, you'll prepare quotations, respond to technical enquiries and identify opportunities to generate additional business, all while delivering an exceptional level of customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical sales support via telephone and face-to-face at the trade counter.

• Support customers across a range of specialist products, including waterproofing membranes, cavity drain systems, liquid-applied waterproofing, damp proofing, ground gas protection, concrete repair systems and pumping solutions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, engineers and specifiers.
• Manage daily trade counter enquiries while delivering a high standard of technical support.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

• A minimum of five years' experience within the construction industry.
• Strong technical knowledge of structural waterproofing systems.
• Experience working within a trade counter or technical sales environment.
• The ability to confidently provide technical advice both over the phone and face-to-face.
• Strong IT skills, including experience using CRM and ERP systems (NetSuite experience would be advantageous).
• The ability to commute to the company's Tonbridge office on a daily basis.
• CSSW accreditation (desirable but not essential).
• A full UK driving licence.
