Metro Rod Birmingham is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to lead the technical delivery of commercial drainage works. This role combines hands-on site presence with office support, reviewing CCTV surveys, advising engineers, assessing requirements and overseeing works to successful completion.
You will meet clients on site, identify the most appropriate solutions, prepare accurate quotations, plan labour and equipment, and ensure safety, quality and service standards across the business.

We’re looking for an experienced drainage professional to join our business as Technical Manager.
This is a varied and hands-on role supporting both our office team and field engineers with the day-to-day technical delivery of commercial drainage works. You’ll review CCTV surveys, provide practical guidance to engineers, attend sites to assess requirements and oversee works through to successful completion.
You’ll also meet clients and engineers on site, identify the right technical solution and prepare accurate quotations for recommended works.
This isn’t a purely office-based management role. You’ll remain closely involved with engineers, customers and live projects, helping us maintain high standards of safety, quality and customer service across the business.
We’re looking for someone with broad, practical experience in commercial drainage who understands what good looks like both on site and behind the scenes.
This role would suit an experienced Technical Manager, Drainage Supervisor or highly skilled commercial Drainage Engineer ready to take the next step while remaining actively involved in operational delivery.
