Job summary

Metro Rod Edinburgh is seeking a Drainage Engineer to join our fast-growing team in the Edinburgh area. You will carry out drainage cleaning, clearance and maintenance, operating high-pressure jetting equipment and conducting surveys for commercial clients.

The role requires a minimum of 2 years in commercial drainage, a proactive problem-solver mindset, and a flexible attitude to cover on-call duties. A full valid UK driving licence is essential, with DOE salary and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• High pressure water jetting experience required.
• Surveying experience preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in commercial drainage.
• Excellent problem-solving ability with sound technical knowledge.
• Positive, flexible, can-do attitude.
• Willingness to work unsociable hours.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

What does it entail?

• Carrying out a range of services associated with the cleaning, clearance, repair and maintenance of our customers’ drains
• Operation of High-Pressure Water Jetting Equipment in line with rigorous safety standards
• Carrying out surveys
• Providing an exceptional standard of customer service and technical expertise
• Accurately recording work/job details via a range of bespoke internal/client systems and applications
• Communicate effectively with high profile commercial and domestic clients and Metro Rod Support Centre colleagues to ensure excellent customer service is provided at all times
• Being part of an on-call rota to help service our clients 24/7 / 365 days a year. This would be one week in four- variable according to business needs
