Qualifications

Location

B73 6EB – you will work across all Birmingham Leisure Trust leisure centres.

Salary & Hours

£30,000.00 per annum (salary can be discussed at interview). 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with evening/wknd call outs as required.

Job Overview

The post holder will consistently provide a professional and effective maintenance, service and repair function on a pre‑planned, ad‑hoc, breakdown and reactive basis to the Building Service Systems & Associated Ancillary Plant. You will be on-call for weekend rota duties and paid in lieu of plain time when required.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain, service and repair systems including cooling, domestic cold‑water, domestic hot‑water, electrical, heating, mains cold‑water, sanitary, ventilation, and water movement systems.
  • Provide hands‑on maintenance and supervise external sub‑contractors.
  • Keep accurate written and electronic records of work performed.
  • Plan and carry out preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Respond to reactive works, including pool plant, HVAC, mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Support health & safety legislation compliance.
  • Work outside normal hours and respond to out‑of‑hour emergencies, covering 5 days out of 7.
  • Use your clean, in‑date driving licence (a works van and fuel card will be provided).
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally with pool plant.
  • Experience with reactive works on pool plant, HVAC, mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Multi‑skilled with basic plumbing, carpentry and electrical skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records (written & electronic).
  • Knowledge of planned preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Knowledge of health & safety legislation.
  • Willingness to work outside normal hours and respond to emergencies.
