Job summary
Yorkshire Water in Leeds is seeking a Tech Lead & Team Leader to drive the technical design and delivery of software solutions within the Delivery of Software Solutions team. This role is permanent, 37 hours per week, with hybrid working (1-2 days in the office).
You will lead engineering teams, mentor developers, ensure quality, and shape technical roadmaps while collaborating with product managers and architects to meet customer needs.
Qualifications
- Significant software engineering experience with technical leadership.
- Experience designing secure, scalable cloud solutions.
- Degree in CS/SE/IT or equivalent practical experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design and delivery of software solutions.
- Provide technical leadership to engineering teams.
- Own end-to-end solution quality including performance and security.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects and BAs.
- Drive engineering excellence through code/design reviews.
- Mentor and coach software engineers for growth.
- Establish and promote software development standards and tooling.
- Ensure delivery on time and within budget; manage risks.
- Shape technical strategy, roadmaps and investment priorities.
- Drive DevOps, automation, CI/CD and cloud-native practices.
