NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non‑clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this post are Monday - Thursday 8am-8pm, Friday 8am-5pm.

Please be advised that, effective 1 April 2026, the full‑time working hours for all Agenda for Change posts will be reduced to 36 hours.

Abortion care service based within Sexual Health Services are looking to recruit a proactive secretary who is empathetic and supportive of clients who find themselves seeking a termination of pregnancy. The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team in a community setting based out of Sandyford main hub.

Ability to assess and support clients either face to face or over telephone is important. Supporting clients to attend the service for their ultrasound scanning, sexual health screening and explanation of termination options, as well as contraception planning.

Experience of working in a high demand service and call centre environment is essential. Good working knowledge of contraception and sexual health testing would be desirable however training would also be provided if necessary.

Must have excellent communication skills and previous experience in either sexual health setting or Gynaecology area of care would be essential.
