Job summary

Linkit Recruitment is recruiting for Team Leaders / Deputy Managers across the Midlands to join a leading healthcare provider on a permanent basis. You will provide operational leadership to a staff team delivering high-acuity support to individuals with complex behavioural needs within 3:1, 4:1 and 5:1 staffing arrangements.

The role combines shift leadership with direct care, staff supervision, quality assurance and incident management, ensuring safe and consistent care plans, PBS and DoLS

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in complex care, learning disability, autism, ABI, mental health or high-risk behavioural services.
• Experience leading 3:1, 4:1 or 5:1 packages.
• Experience managing behaviours that challenge and physical aggression.
• Advanced practical de-escalation and crisis prevention.
• Experience implementing PBS plans and complex risk assessments.
• Knowledge of DoLS, safeguarding and least restrictive practice.
• Strong incident reporting and escalation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the staff team during shifts and allocate within enhanced staffing arrangements.
• Maintain oversight of risk and ensure staffing arrangements remain appropriate to the individual's presentation.
• Ensure staff understand triggers, early warning signs, preventative strategies and escalation protocols.
• Lead staff responses during significant behavioural incidents.
• Coordinate responses to aggression, violence, absconding and other high-risk behaviours.
• Ensure de-escalation is the primary response and restrict interventions are used when lawful and necessary.
• Conduct shift briefings and handovers; review records and incident reports for accuracy.
• Monitor staff practice and support competency assessments and performance management.
• Identify training and development requirements; liaison with management and external professionals.
