Job summary

Sgs-Care-Ltd in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking a resilient Team Leader to supervise shifts in a Residential Children's Home, delivering trauma-informed care to young people with complex needs.

You will provide supervision to care staff, contribute to care plan development and reviews, and support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in daily operations. A full UK driving licence is required, and weekend and sleep-in shifts are expected.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or working towards completion).
  • Level 5 Leadership & Management desirable.
  • At least 1 year of experience in residential childcare.
  • Full UK driving licence required and willingness to work shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise shifts confidently and lead the care team.
  • Support the development and review of care plans.
  • Provide supervision and guidance to residential care staff.
  • Assist the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager with daily operations.
  • Demonstrate safeguarding knowledge and act as a role model.

Job Title: Team Leader

Location: Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, ST2

Salary: £38,849.56 per annum

Employment Type: Full time

Service: Residential Children's Home

Service Users: Young people with complex needs, cared for through trauma-informed practice

Qualifications Required: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or working towards completion); Level 5 Leadership & Management desirable

Experience Required: At least 1 year of experience in residential childcare

Who we are looking for: A resilient, motivated Team Leader who can lead shifts confidently and support the team to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed care in line with individual care plans. You'll provide supervision and guidance to residential care staff, contribute to the development and review of care plans, and support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager with daily operations. Strong safeguarding knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to act as a role model are essential, along with a full UK driving licence and the flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins.
