Description

Cornwall Insight is an award-winning provider of research, analysis, consulting and training to businesses and stakeholders engaged in the Great British and Irish energy markets. We are seeking a Team Assistant to support our Consultancy team in our Norwich HQ.

As a Team Assistant, you will play a dual role by supporting the Energy Consulting team with core operational functions and providing personal assistant support to the Global Consulting Partner. This is a pivotal position that combines data coordination, financial reporting, and executive support to ensure the effective running of our consultancy operations and leadership activities.

You will work closely with colleagues across consulting, finance, and business operations to help maintain and improve the systems that support revenue tracking and client delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Executive & Administrative Support:

  • Provide professional and proactive PA support to the Global Consulting Partner, including diary management, travel arrangements, meeting preparation, and expense management.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the Partner, ensuring high-quality communication and follow-up.
  • Help manage confidential or commercially sensitive tasks with the utmost discretion and care.

Financial & Commercial Support:

  • Assist in reviewing and feedbacking monthly and quarterly consulting revenue (including review of cross-checked data against consultant timesheets along with billing data).
  • Work with the team to follow up on collection of outstanding client dues and documents (PO, contracts, etc)
  • Support the forecasting process by gathering relevant data and updating tracking tools to inform revenue projections.
  • Support on tenders as (i.e. management of tender portals and with ‘generic’ document provision). Support with maintenance of tender portal membership and documentation.

Team Operations & Culture:

  • Coordinate internal team meetings, offsites, and social events, supporting a positive and collaborative team environment.
  • Help manage internal reporting processes and dashboards for project and performance tracking.
  • Provide onboarding and general administrative support for new team members or contractors.
  • Support tracking of internal resource allocation to ensure the efficient operation of the team.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and ERP systems (e.g., Sage. Good to have – upskilling will be provided as needed).
  • Strong Excel skills – including ability to use pivot tables, lookups, and data cleansing functions.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills; able to prioritise across a broad range of activities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a proactive and approachable attitude.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information confidentially and professionally.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Relevant qualification or equivalent professional experience in a business, finance, or administrative discipline.
  • Experience in a similar assistant, operations, or administrative role—ideally within consulting, energy, or professional services.
  • Experience working with senior leaders or executives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience supporting financial or sales data reporting is desirable.
  • Experience within the UK energy sector or working knowledge of energy markets is a plus, but not essential.
