What skills and experience we're looking for

A qualified, caring, committed Teaching Assistant is required to work with a 1:1 pupil with medical needs.

The ideal candidate will
  • Enjoy working with children and want to make a difference.
  • Be keen to learn and welcome continued professional development.
  • Be organised and able to adapt planning, through daily assessment, to meet individual needs.
  • Have relevant school-based experience, particularly working with children with medical needs.
The person appointed will
  • Undertake relevant training to enable care of the child.
  • Work under the direction of the Nursery room lead and Academy SENCO.
  • Support the child on a personalised care plan within a nursery setting.
  • Support the child with their specific medical needs.
  • Adapt planning and create resources to meet the child’s individual needs.
  • Communicate positively and regularly with parents.
  • Attend meetings with parents and professionals, where relevant, and support the child in accessing learning opportunities.
  • Deliver intervention support for individuals or small groups of children.
The following will be an advantage
  • Working knowledge of the EYFS Curriculum.
  • Understanding of child development.
  • Experience of working with children with medical needs.
  • A Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) is desirable.
