Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd is seeking a caring and motivated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs in a welcoming school environment. This full-time role involves assisting students with SEND, supporting their learning activities, and collaborating with teachers to ensure a positive educational experience.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with SEND and a minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths. There are opportunities for additional training and development, with the chance for permanent placement in the future.

Qualifications

Job description

Job Duties
  • Assist in the implementation of individual education plans for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Support students in their learning activities both in group settings and on a one-to-one basis
  • Provide assistance with personal care needs as required
  • Help create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for students
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Experience working with children or individuals with SEND (in a school setting or personal experience)
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
Education

Relevant qualification in Education or Special Educational Needs is desirable but not mandatory.

Knowledge and Skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Patience and empathy when working with students
Preferred Qualifications
  • Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
  • First Aid certification
Working Conditions
  • Full-Time hours, Monday to Friday
  • Work within a school environment
  • Potential for additional training and development opportunities
  • Reduced Classes (7-9 students)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
