Job summary

Monarch Education is recruiting a compassionate Teaching Assistant to support a non-verbal student in a welcoming primary school in Bradley Stoke, near Bristol. This full-time role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, with a long-term, immediate start.

You’ll work closely with the SENDCo, teachers, and support staff to help the pupil access learning and participate fully in school life. The school values inclusion and provides strong pastoral and SEND support.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children with SEND or additional communication needs.
  • Experience working with non-verbal pupils or children with speech and language difficulties.
  • Patient, nurturing and resilient.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated support for a non-verbal pupil throughout the school day.
  • Help the pupil access learning activities both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Use communication strategies and tools to support engagement and interaction.

  • Adapt activities to meet the individual needs of the pupil.
  • Encourage confidence, independence, and social development.
  • Support emotional wellbeing and positive participation in school life.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
