Job summary

Monarch Education is recruiting a committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist Resource Base within a welcoming primary school in Easton, Bristol.

You will support pupils with SEND in base and mainstream settings, working one-to-one and in small groups to meet learning targets and assist in implementing EHCP outcomes. The role is full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm, with ongoing consultant support and SEND-focused training.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND.
• Knowledge of ASC, ADHD, Speech and Language Needs, or SEMH needs.
• Patient, empathetic and resilient.

The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support pupils with SEND within the Resource Base and mainstream classroom settings.
• Work closely with children on a one-to-one basis and in small groups to meet individual learning targets.
• Assist in implementing EHCP outcomes and personalised support plans.
• Support pupils’ communication, social, emotional, and behavioural development.
• Adapt learning activities to meet the needs of individual pupils.
• Promote independence, confidence, and self-esteem.
• Use positive behaviour support strategies to help pupils regulate and engage in learning.
• Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, teaching staff, and external professionals.
• Contribute to creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
• Support sensory and therapeutic approaches where appropriate.

What We're Looking For

• Have experience working with children or young people with SEND.
• Have knowledge of additional needs such as Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language Needs, or Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
