Job summary

Monarch Education is seeking a caring Teaching Assistant to support a Key Stage 2 pupil on a 1:1 basis in a friendly Clifton primary school in Bristol. This full-time, long-term role starts ASAP and offers opportunities to contribute to the child’s learning and wellbeing from day one.

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCo, helping the pupil access learning and build confidence in the classroom, while providing a calm, supportive presence throughout the day.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting a pupil in Key Stage 2 settings.
• Ability to support learning and emotional wellbeing for a pupil with additional needs.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work with teachers, SENCo, and families.

About the Role

This is a full-time, long-term position supporting a pupil in a Key Stage 2 classroom on a 1:1 basis.

The pupil is currently undiagnosed and awaiting an EHCP, so you’ll play a key role in helping shape the support they receive from the very beginning. This is a rewarding position where patience, creativity, and adaptability will make a real difference.

You’ll be helping the child to feel safe, engaged, and confident in the classroom, supporting both their learning and emotional wellbeing.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Providing consistent 1:1 support within the classroom
• Helping the pupil access learning in a way that works for them
• Working closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and family
• Encouraging positive routines, independence, and confidence
• Being a calm, reassuring presence throughout the school day
