Rivermead Primary School in Reading invites applications for a Teaching Assistant Apprentice (SEND Level 3). 16-month programme with online/remote learning, 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term-time. Training provided by LMP Education. Duties include supporting pupils, delivering interventions, and liaising with teachers and the Inclusion team to track progress.

The role requires good curriculum knowledge, strong communication, and confidentiality. DBS clearance is required if successful.

Teaching Assistant Level 3 SEND Apprenticeship – Rivermead Primary School

Are you passionate about making a difference with children as they embark on their educational journey? We seek an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to join our team as a Teaching Assistant Apprentice in our welcoming primary school.

Key Details

Salary: £8 increasing to National Minimum Wage after 12 months

Working hours: Monday – Friday 08:40am – 3:00pm (term time only) 30 hours per week

Location: London Bridge Road, Woodley, Reading, RG5 4BS

Apprenticeship Details –

16 months expected duration to complete, working towards your Teaching Assistant SEND Level 3 Apprenticeship. (All learning is delivered online/ remote).

Training Provider: LMP Education (rated 1st best UK training provider)

The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively with people at all levels. We are looking for a reliable, flexible individual who has a passion working in schools. Main duties will include:

• Supporting learning for individual pupils and of small groups under the guidance of the classroom teacher/Inclusion team and assist with the implementation of lesson plans and facilitate more ambitious learning activities
• Deliver class support and interventions.
• Undertake the activities and strategies agreed for individual pupils and small groups.
• Work with the teacher on individual and group programmes of work, liaising with individual targets and devising strategies to work the targets identified for the pupils.
• Assist in liaison with other professionals respecting confidentiality and contribute to the observation, record keeping and assessment of pupils.
• Monitor, record and analyse pupil data e.g. worksheets at the request of the class teacher Carry out the organisation and collation of pupil reports (as required)
• Attend TA/staff meetings, planning sessions and Training where applicable.
• Help with special occasions in the school's annual calendar (if applicable)
• Assist with classroom administrative tasks e.g. photocopying
• Support pupils on school educational trips (if applicable) and First Aid and/or lunchtime/break time playground supervision (if required)
