Job summary

Engage Education are seeking a SEND Apprentice Teaching Assistant to support children with complex learning needs in a Greater Manchester secondary school for the full academic year. This paid, full-time apprenticeship offers hands-on 1:1 and small group SEN support while you complete the qualification.

The role runs September 2026 to July 2027, with daily pay between £55 and £80 during term time, optional permanent progression, and access to free online CPD courses.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children in any capacity.
• Naturally outgoing and engaging with an interest in teaching.
• Enhanced DBS on update service desirable but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Conducting 1:1 and small group SEN support.
• Create a warm, inspiring atmosphere for children throughout the day.
• Build meaningful rapport with students and communicate with school SENCO.
