Job summary

Engage Education is recruiting an Apprentice SEN Teaching Assistant to join a large SEN School in Manchester. This 11-month apprenticeship provides paid, hands-on experience and a fully funded Level 3 CACHE qualification, with mentoring from the SEN team and an Engage Education consultant.

You will support 1:1 and small group work, assist with language targets and IEPs, and gain pathways toward HLTA and SEN specialist roles.

Qualifications

• Commitment to completing the full 11-month learning agreement and apprenticeship course.
• Patient, nurturing, reliable and passionate about supporting children with SEN.
• GCSE Maths & English Grade C/4+ (or equivalent) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with additional needs (including Autism, ADHD, communication needs, and physical/learning difficulties)
• Assist pupils with tailored learning activities, speech & language targets, and sensory breaks
• Support children's social, emotional, and physical development in a safe, nurturing environment
• Assist class teachers and the SENCo with resource preparation and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
• Help encourage positive behaviour and promote independence in classroom activities

This is a dedicated 11‑month apprenticeship programme. We are seeking a reliable, motivated individual who is fully committed to signing the learning agreement and completing the full 11‑month journey to gain their Level 3 qualification.
