Job summary

Engage Education is recruiting an Apprentice SEN Teaching Assistant to join a thriving SEN team at a large 2-form entry primary school in Blackley, Manchester. This 11-month apprenticeship offers a paid pathway to a Level 3 CACHE qualification and a dedicated mentoring setup.

You will work across EYFS/KS1/KS2, providing support and contributing to individual education plans while earning as you learn.

Qualifications

• Commitment to completing the full 11-month learning agreement and apprenticeship course.
• GCSE Maths & English Grade C/4+ (or equivalent) preferred.
• Not currently enrolled in another government-funded course.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with additional needs (Autism, ADHD, etc.).
• Assist pupils with tailored learning activities, speech & language targets, and sensory breaks.
• Support children's social, emotional, and physical development in a nurturing environment.
• Assist teachers and SENCo with resource prep and IEPs.
• Help encourage positive behaviour and promote independence in classroom activities.

Engage Education is recruiting an Apprentice SEN Teaching Assistant to join the thriving SEN team at a vibrant, large 2-form entry primary school in Blackley.

This is a dedicated 11-month apprenticeship programme. We are seeking a reliable, motivated individual who is fully committed to signing the learning agreement and completing the full 11-month journey to gain their Level 3 qualification.

Key Responsibilities

Working directly within the school's SEN team across EYFS, KS1, or KS2, you will:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with additional needs (including Autism, ADHD, communication needs, and physical/learning difficulties)
• Assist pupils with tailored learning activities, speech & language targets, and sensory breaks
• Support children's social, emotional, and physical development in a safe, nurturing environment
• Assist class teachers and the SENCo with resource preparation and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
• Help encourage positive behaviour and promote independence in classroom activities
