Job summary

Engage Education is seeking an Apprentice Teaching Assistant in Rochdale to provide 1:1 and small group SEN support in a secondary school for the full academic year from September 2026 to July 2027.

The role focuses on creating a warm, engaging atmosphere, building rapport with students, and reporting to the school SENCO. 2026 graduates are desirable; enhanced DBS is desirable but not mandatory, with paid holidays during breaks and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children in any capacity.
• 2026 graduates desirable.
• Outgoing and engaging individual with interest in teaching.
• Enhanced DBS on update service desirable but NOT mandatory.

• Conducting specifically tailored 1:1 & small group support for children with SEN

• Located in one Rochdale secondary school for full academic year

Apprentice Teaching Assistant – Benefits:

• Paid £65 – £70 per day during term time
• Paid throughout the holiday periods
• Monday to Friday role from September 2026 to July 2027
• FREE online CPD courses across array of subjects
• Guaranteed TA qualification pending completion of 11 month course – Level 3 or Level 4
• Option to join school permanently pending course completion
