Job summary

Vision for Education is recruiting a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Wotton-under-Edge. The role focuses on supporting children with additional needs and helping them access learning in a positive environment.

Responsibilities include providing 1:1 and small group support, promoting engagement and developing confidence, independence and social skills under guidance from teaching staff. Prior experience is beneficial but not essential.

Teaching Assistant - Wotton-under-Edge

£14.24 per hour (PAYE)
Full-Time | Monday to Friday

Vision for Education is recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Wotton-under-Edge. This is a fantastic opportunity to support children with additional needs while becoming part of a welcoming and experienced school team.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them access learning and achieve their individual goals. Working closely with teachers and other support staff, you\'ll play an important role in creating a positive and engaging learning environment.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Assisting children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, learning difficulties and other additional needs.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting engagement in lessons.
  • Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and social skills.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers to deliver personalised learning.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
About You

To be considered for this Teaching Assistant role, you will:

  • Have a genuine passion for supporting children and young people.
  • Be patient, reliable and able to adapt to different situations.
  • Have strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Be confident supporting pupils with a variety of learning needs.
  • Be committed to helping every child achieve their full potential.

Previous experience in education is beneficial but not essential. We also welcome applications from candidates with backgrounds in care, youth work, coaching, residential support or similar roles.
