Job summary

Vision for Education is recruiting a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Wotton-under-Edge. The role focuses on supporting children with additional needs and helping them access learning in a positive environment.

Responsibilities include providing 1:1 and small group support, promoting engagement and developing confidence, independence and social skills under guidance from teaching staff. Prior experience is beneficial but not essential.

Qualifications

• Patience and reliability in supporting pupils.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building with students, families and staff.
• Ability to adapt to different needs and learning environments.
• Confidence in supporting pupils with a range of learning needs.
• Commitment to helping each child reach their potential.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups to access learning.
• Assist children with ASC, ADHD, SEMH and other needs.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in lessons.
• Help pupils build confidence, independence and social skills.
• Collaborate with teachers to deliver personalised learning.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
