Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd is recruiting compassionate Teaching Assistants to work across a range of specialist SEN schools in Bristol and South Gloucestershire. You will support pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and other complex needs, in 1:1, small group or whole-class settings, depending on the school.

Candidates with experience in SEN or related roles are welcome; a patient, nurturing approach and the ability to manage behaviours positively are essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children or vulnerable adults with additional needs.
  • Patient, resilient and nurturing approach.
  • Confidence managing challenging behaviours using positive behaviour strategies.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one).

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 support to pupils with additional needs.
  • Support small groups or whole class learning as required.
  • Work across SEN schools in Bristol and South Gloucestershire as needed.

The role

Vision for Education are looking to recruit compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistants to work across a range of specialist SEN schools throughout Bristol and South Gloucestershire.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs. Whether you have experience working within SEN schools or have supported children or vulnerable adults in other settings, we would love to hear from you.

You could be supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, complex learning difficulties, physical disabilities or challenging behaviours. Roles may involve working on a 1:1 basis, with small groups, or supporting whole class learning depending on the needs of the school.

The ideal Teaching Assistant will have:
  • Experience supporting children or vulnerable adults with additional needs (desirable but not essential)
  • A patient, resilient and nurturing approach
  • Confidence managing challenging behaviours using positive behaviour strategies
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A genuine passion for helping children achieve their potential
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one)
