Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd. is seeking a compassionate Teaching Assistant to support a Complex Needs School in South Bristol. The role is full-time, term-time only, 8:30am–3:30pm, on-site, with a 0-hour contract initially and potential for a permanent post.

You will assist pupils with a range of complex needs, work with teachers and therapists, and help develop independence, communication and social skills in a nurturing environment.

Teaching Assistant - Complex Needs School
South Bristol
£14.24 per hour | Term Time Only | Full-Time

Vision for Education are looking to appoint a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to work full-time within a welcoming Complex Needs School in South Bristol.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with a range of complex learning needs, helping them to access education, develop independence and reach their full potential. The school provides a nurturing and supportive environment where every child is encouraged to thrive.

The role is Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm, term time only. You will initially be employed on a 0-hour contract through Vision for Education, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position with the school for the right candidate.

The Role

• Supporting pupils with complex additional needs both in and out of the classroom.
• Working closely with teachers and therapists to deliver engaging, tailored learning.
• Promoting independence, communication and social development.
• Using a patient, positive and flexible approach to support pupils throughout the school day.
• Building strong relationships with pupils, staff and families.

The Ideal Candidate

• Has a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable children and young people.
• Is patient, caring and resilient.
• Can build positive relationships and adapt to the individual needs of pupils.
• Previous experience supporting children or vulnerable adults is desirable but not essential.
• Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or is willing to obtain one through Vision for Education.
