Job summary

Vision for Education are recruiting a Teaching Assistant to work within supportive SEND schools in the Lydney area. The role is accessible from surrounding areas and offers flexible day-to-day work with long-term opportunities. September 2026 start.

You will support pupils across KS1/KS2 with needs including ASC, ADHD, SEMH and other challenges, delivering 1:1 and small group support alongside teachers.

Qualifications

  • Experience in education, care or youth work is beneficial but not essential
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • A genuine passion for working with children

Vision for Education are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work within supportive SEND schools in the Lydney area. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys helping children overcome barriers to learning while gaining valuable experience in education.

The role is easily accessible from surrounding areas including Coleford, Cinderford, Chepstow, Gloucester, Newent and the wider Forest of Dean.

About the role

As a Teaching Assistant, you'll be supporting pupils across KS1 and KS2 who have a range of additional needs including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, learning difficulties, physical disabilities and communication needs.

You'll work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide 1:1 support, small group interventions and classroom assistance, helping pupils build confidence, stay engaged and achieve their full potential.

Every day is different, but your support will make a real impact on the children's learning and development.
