Job summary

Reeson Education is partnering with a SEND setting in the WA15 postcode area to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant for a full-time, temp-to-perm position. The role supports pupils with special educational needs in a supportive environment.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, help develop and implement IEPs with the Lead Teacher, and deliver curriculum activities both on-site and in the community. A full UK driving license and term-time availability are essential.

Reeson Education is excited to partner with a dedicated SEND setting in the wa15 postcode area to find a passionate Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, temp-to-perm basis. This role offers a fulfilling opportunity to support pupils with special educational needs while working within a supportive and inclusive environment.


Teaching assistant Key Details:



  • Position: Teaching Assistant

  • Location: WA15 postcode area (precise location undisclosed)

  • Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday, term time only

  • Duration: Long-term, with potential for temp to permanent placement


Teaching Assistant Essential Requirements:



  • A full UK driving license is essential for this role, along with business insurance.

  • The ability to transport pupils within the community as part of their learning experience.


Teaching assistant Desirable Qualifications and Experience:



  • Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent (essential).

  • Experience working with children with ASC, learning disabilities, or sensory needs.

  • Knowledge of PECS or alternative communication methods is advantageous.


Responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant:



  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with special educational needs in both classroom and community settings.

  • Assist in developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the Lead Teacher and external specialists.

  • Facilitate inclusive and interactive learning experiences, adapting materials and activities to suit individual needs.

  • Organise and deliver curriculum-based activities both on-site and in the community, ensuring pupils engage with their surroundings safely and positively.

  • Support personal development, behaviour management, and communication skills for all pupils.
