Job summary

TeacherActive is looking for a Teaching Assistant in Rochester to support children with special educational needs in a safe, inclusive learning environment. You will work closely with the class teacher to enable access to learning and help pupils achieve their goals.

The role is long-term from September, focusing on personal care, 1:1 support and classroom assistance, with a friendly, supportive team and opportunities for CPD and career development.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND.
• Confidence providing personal care.
• Experience supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and within the classroom.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A patient, caring and proactive approach.
• Adaptability and a positive 'can-do' attitude.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support and assist the class teacher.

The school is committed to helping every pupil develop confidence, independence and essential life skills through a personalised approach to learning.

The school is looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis from September. The successful Teaching Assistant will provide classroom support, deliver 1:1 assistance where required and support pupils with personal care, working closely with the class teacher to ensure every child can access learning and reach their individual goals.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND
• Confidence providing personal care
• Experience supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and within the classroom
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A patient, caring and proactive approach
• Adaptability and a positive 'can-do' attitude
