Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant in Rowley Regis for a full-time, long-term role starting September 2026. You will support pupils with Autism/ASD and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) both 1:1 and in small groups, under the guidance of the class teacher.

The role requires prior SEND experience, strong communication, patience and resilience, and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team. Salary is £95–£115 per day, paid via PAYE.

The school provides a welcoming and inclusive environment where every child is encouraged to develop confidence, independence and essential life skills through personalised support.

The school is looking to appoint a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis from September. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will support pupils with Autism / ASD and Moderate Learning Difficulties / MLD on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups, working closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging learning activities while promoting positive behaviour and individual progress.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND
• Experience working with pupils with Autism / ASD and Moderate Learning Difficulties / MLD
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• A patient, nurturing and resilient approach
• The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Team Teach or Makaton training is desirable but not essential
