Academics is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join an SEN school between Brockenhurst and Lymington in the New Forest area. This full-time, temporary-to-permanent role starts in September, with hours 8:30am–4:30pm (Mon-Thu) and 8:30am–4:00pm (Fri); 39 weeks of the year.
The role pays £14.24 per hour and requires GCSE English and Maths at C/4 or above with evidence provided. You will support pupils aged 7–19 with Asperger's and other autistic spectrum needs in small groups and 1:1.
Academics are seeking an experienced and engaging Teaching Assistant to join an SEN School in the New Forest area in between Brockenhurst and Lymington. This is a full-time, temporary to permanent contact starting in September. Teaching Assistant working hours are 8.30am - 4.30pm Monday-Thursday and 8.30am - 4pm on a Friday. This is a term-time role working 39 weeks of the year, paying 14.24 per hour. You must have a C/4 of above in your English and Maths GCSE to be considered for the role. Evidence of this must be provided. The school caters for pupils aged 7-19 years who are diagnosed with aspergers syndrome and other associated needs on the autistic spectrum. You will be required to support pupils across the school in small groups and on a 1:1 basis. The suitable Teaching Assistant will have experience of supporting children with special educational needs, ideally within an SEN environment. You will be empathetic, nurturing, be able to manage varying levels of challenging behaviour and have the ability to think on your feet and adapt to situations. Due to the location in Lymington, you will ideally be a driver, or live in the Lymington area.
This is a challenging environment to work in, but also very rewarding. Children who attend this school do display various levels of challenging behaviour combined with other complex needs. The work placement may be suited to someone who enjoys the variation of working in this type of environment and with a passion and love for working with and supporting children with special educational needs.
You will be joining an experienced, very supportive team of senior leaders, teachers, and support staff and will be provided with the necessary training.
