Job summary

Supply Desk are seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant for an Andover school from September. The role supports children with SEN, with daily pay between £90 and £110 and hours 8:30am–3:30pm.

If you have experience with care, youth work, or support roles and a willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS, we want to hear from you. This friendly SEN environment focuses on wellbeing and individual pupil progress.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people with additional needs (desirable but not essential).
  • Patience, care and a passion for supporting pupils with SEN.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
  • Experience supporting students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

  • Support students inside and outside the classroom, helping to deliver personalised learning, promote independence and encourage positive social and emotional development.
  • Assist with one-to-one support and small group activities as required.
  • Support the development of positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and other professionals to meet individual pupil needs.

Supply Desk are working closely with a welcoming and supportive SEN school in Andover, who are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.

About the School

This friendly and inclusive SEN school caters for pupils aged 4-16 with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
