Job summary

New Directions Education in the Nantwich area is actively seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support across primary schools in Nantwich and surrounding areas. This role suits individuals passionate about helping children learn and progress within a warm, supportive classroom environment.

You'll work 3 or more days per week, supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups, assisting teachers, and helping create a safe, inclusive atmosphere that encourages positive behaviour and development

Qualifications

  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable).
  • Experience in a school environment or with children is advantageous.
  • Patient, caring, and adaptable approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Willingness to obtain Enhanced DBS check and provide references.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils in 1:1 and small group settings.
  • Assist teachers with lesson delivery and activities.
  • Support diverse learning needs and abilities.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement.
  • Promote social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Job description

New Directions Education are currently recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to work across primary schools in Nantwich and surrounding areas. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting children's learning and making a positive difference within the classroom.

The schools we work with are welcoming and supportive, offering opportunities across EYFS, KS1, and KS2.

Due to the nature of these opportunities, candidates must be able to commit to working 3 or more days per week.

The Role:
  • Supporting pupils in the classroom on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities
  • Supporting pupils with a range of learning needs and abilities
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning
  • Promoting pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development
  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
  • Preparing classroom resources and supporting daily routines
  • Monitoring and recording pupil progress where required
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
  • Experience working with children or within a school setting (desirable)
  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
  • A full driving licence and access to transport (beneficial)
