Job summary

Connex Education Partnership in Northwich is seeking a caring Teaching Assistant to join our Reception class team on a full-time, five-days-a-week basis. You will support early years learning, assist with personal care, and help create a safe, nurturing environment while tracking progress and liaising with families.

This role offers weekly pay, opportunities to work across a variety of schools, and ongoing professional development with a supportive team and potential permanent placements.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with young children in an educational setting.
  • Willingness and ability to provide personal care with sensitivity.
  • Good communication with children, staff and parents.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and DBS checks.

About the Role

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming Reception class team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the early years of children's education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities to Reception-aged children
  • Provide personal care assistance, including toileting, changing, and hygiene support
  • Help create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment
  • Support children's social, emotional, and academic development
  • Assist with classroom preparation, displays, and resource management
  • Work with individual children and small groups to reinforce learning
  • Maintain accurate records and observations of children's progress

Essential Requirements

  • Experience working with young children, ideally in an educational setting
  • Willingness and ability to provide personal care with sensitivity and professionalism
  • Patient, warm, and approachable manner
  • Good communication skills with children, staff, and parents
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
