A leading educational staffing agency is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with autism in Year 1. Qualifications

Teaching Assistant (1:1) - SEND / EHCP Support

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) in Year 1.

The child is a bright and engaging little boy with autism who benefits from a bespoke timetable and highly individualised support. He can become overwhelmed in a busy classroom environment and therefore requires a calm, proactive adult who can support emotional regulation and engagement with learning.

About the role
  • 1:1 support for a child with autism in Year 1
  • Implementing and adapting a bespoke timetable
  • Supporting transitions, emotional regulation and access to learning
  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and wider team
  • Supporting medical needs (training will be provided by qualified staff)
About the child
  • Bright and capable, with strong interests he can hyperfocus on, particularly in quieter environments

  • Enjoys having a sense of control and therefore needs consistent, calm boundary-setting

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
