Job summary

Woodlands School in Esher is seeking a Teaching Assistant Level 1 for our satellite provision at Cranmere Primary School. This part-time role (29h15m/wk, term-time) supports pupils with special needs, under supervision of the class teacher, with opportunities for training and development.

Responsibilities include supporting learning, preparing intervention activities, and promoting pupils' social and emotional development. Must have safeguarding awareness and GCSE English and Maths.

  • Ability to demonstrate an awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children.
  • Evidence of effective continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Working as part of a team, under direction of the responsible Teacher, support teaching provision, development and implementation of learning for pupils.
  • Under guidance of the responsible Teacher, facilitate learning of individual pupils and groups, setting high expectations and promoting positive attitudes to learning.
  • Prepare, plan and deliver specific intervention programmes, adjusting activities according to pupil response and need.
  • Promote and support the development of pupils’ social and emotional needs.

Details

Job title: Teaching Assistant Level 1- Special Needs

Location: This role is based at Woodlands satellite site, Cranmere Primary School, Esher, Surrey with occasional travel across East Surrey and to Woodlands School (Leatherhead).

Hours: 29hrs and 15 minutes per week, Monday to Friday, 39 weeks per year, term time only.

Contract: Part time. Permanent and fixed-term contracts of 1 year available
