Job summary

Woodlands School, part of Bourne Education Trust, seeks a Teaching Assistant Level 1- Special Needs for its Esher satellite provision. Based at Cranmere Primary School, 29h15m/week, term-time, with occasional travel across East Surrey and Leatherhead. Salary PS3 £16,959 p.a.

(FTE £24,330). Part-time permanent and fixed-term contracts available. Role supports pupils with autism and learning difficulties, under a responsible Teacher, delivering targeted learning and social-emotional development in

Details

Job title: Teaching Assistant Level 1- Special Needs

Location: This role is based at Woodlands satellite site, Cranmere Primary School, Esher, Surrey with occasional travel across East Surrey and to Woodlands School (Leatherhead).

Hours: 29hrs and 15 minutes per week, Monday to Friday, 39 weeks per year, term time only.

Salary: PS3 (Surrey) £16,959 p.a. (FTE £24,330)

Contract: Part time. Permanent and fixed-term contracts of 1 year available

Key Responsibilities
  • Working as part of a team, under the direction of the responsible Teacher, support teaching provision, development and implementation of learning for pupils
  • Under the guidance of the responsible Teacher, facilitate the learning of individual pupils and groups, setting high expectations and promoting positive attitudes to learning
  • Prepare, plan and deliver specific intervention programmes, adjusting activities according to pupil response and need
  • Promote and support the development of pupils’ social and emotional needs
Essential Requirements
  • Ability to demonstrate an awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children
  • GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent appropriate qualification)
  • Ability to evidence effective continuous professional development
