Job summary

Jubilee High School, part of the Bourne Education Trust, is seeking a Teaching Assistant to provide targeted support to pupils under the guidance of teachers. The role promotes inclusion, wellbeing and high standards of learning across the school.

Based at Jubilee High School in Addlestone, the position supports 32.5 hours per week, term-time, with start date ASAP. The Trust emphasises safeguarding and professional development throughout.

Qualifications

  • GCSE English and Maths are required or equivalent
  • Experience of supporting teaching and learning in a school setting preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with pupils, parents and colleagues

Responsibilities

  • Assist and support teaching staff to deliver learning activities
  • Support individual pupils and groups to raise achievement and independence
  • Prepare and deliver intervention activities tailored to pupil needs

We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to join our team at Jubilee High School, part of Bourne Education Trust.

As a TeachingAssistant, you will be responsible for providing highly effective, targeted provision and care to pupils, in support of and under the guidance of Teachers and Senior Leaders, in order to raise standards of achievement for pupils to become independent learners. Ensuring the effective support of pupil welfare and the inclusion of all pupils in all aspects of school life in line with school and Trust policies, promoting the ethos and the values of the school and Bourne Education Trust.

Details

Position: Teaching Assistant

Contract: Termtime, permanent

Hours: 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am - 3pm, 37 weeks per year

Start Date: ASAP

Key responsibilities include:
  • Working as part of a team, under the direction of the responsible Teacher, support teaching provision, development and implementation of learning for pupils
  • Under the guidance of the responsible Teacher, facilitate the learning of individual pupils and groups, setting high expectations and promoting positive attitudes to learning
  • Prepare, plan and deliver specific intervention programmes, adjusting activities according to pupil response and need
Requirements include:
  • Ability to demonstrate an awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children
  • GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent appropriate qualification)
  • Ability to evidence effective communication with a wide audience/range of stakeholders
  • Relevant experience of working with children in an education setting
