Job summary

Woodlands School, part of Bourne Education Trust, invites applications for a SEND Class Teacher at its Esher satellite site. You will deliver inclusive teaching to pupils with autism and learning difficulties, working closely with the SENCo to plan appropriate support and outcomes.

The role is based at Cranmere Primary School, Esher, Surrey, with occasional travel to Leatherhead. 32.5 hours per week full-time; fixed-term 1 year from 1 September 2026.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent is required.
  • Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and learning difficulties.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection policies.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver the curriculum tailored to age and ability, developing teaching materials and pastoral arrangements.
  • Be accountable for pupil attainment, progress and outcomes within your class, planning to meet potential.
  • Collaborate with the SENCo to contribute to SEN Support Arrangements and monitoring.

We are seeking a SEND Class Teacher to join our team at Woodlands School, as part of our satellite provision based at a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Esher.

Details

Job title: SEND Class Teacher

Location: This role is based at Woodlands satellite site, Cranmere Primary School, Esher, Surrey with occasional travel across East Surrey and to Woodlands School (Leatherhead).

Hours: Full time, 32.5 hours per week. Part-time (2 days p/week), also
available

Contract: Fixed-term for 1 year (1 September 2026 to 31 August 2027)

Start Date: September 2026

Key responsibilities include:

  • Deliver the curriculum as relevant to the age and ability of the individuals and classes you teach, preparing and developing teaching materials, programmes and pastoral arrangements as appropriate
  • Be accountable for the attainment, progress and outcomes of all pupils within your class/es, planning effectively to ensure that pupils have the opportunity to meet their potential
  • Be aware of pupils’ capabilities, planning effectively to meet the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and work in collaboration with the SENCo to make an appropriate contribution to and participate in the preparation, implementation, monitoring and review of SEN Support Arrangements

Requirements include:

  • Ability to demonstrate an awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children
  • Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent
  • Ability to evidence effective continuous professional development
