Job summary

Milk Education is assisting a welcoming primary school in Doncaster to recruit a Teaching Assistant for a September 2026 start. The role is full-time during term time, with potential for permanent placement and long-term continuity.

You will support the class teacher, work one-to-one and in small groups, assist with preparation and resources, and help create a safe, inclusive learning environment while encouraging a love of learning.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children in a primary school, nursery or similar setting.
  • Caring, enthusiastic and committed to supporting children's education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work well in a team and adapt to changing needs.
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and creative lessons across the primary curriculum.

  • Support pupils with a range of learning needs, including SEND where appropriate.

  • Encourage independence, resilience and a love of learning.
What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have previous experience working with children in a primary school, nursery or similar educational setting.
  • Be caring, enthusiastic and committed to supporting children's education.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be adaptable, reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
