Job summary

Oxford High School is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant (Level 3) to provide specialist 1:1 EHCP support and classroom assistance. Working with the Learning Support Team and teachers, you will help the pupil access learning and meet personalised targets.

You will contribute to wider school life, support peers, monitor progress, and maintain safeguarding. The role is full-time during term time, with a fixed-term contract for one year.

Responsibilities

• Specialist 1:1 EHCP Support: Provide dedicated one-to-one support for a pupil in line with their EHCP and individual targets.
• Deliver interventions and support programmes, monitor progress, and contribute to assessment and planning processes.
• Promote independence, self-esteem, inclusion, and positive engagement in learning.
• Teaching & Learning Support: Assist teachers in delivering engaging learning experiences and support groups.
• Pastoral Care: Support positive behaviour and supervise during breaks, lunchtimes, and transitions; provide first aid if qualified.

About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant (Level 3) to provide high-quality classroom support alongside specialist 1:1 support for a pupil with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).Working closely with teachers, the Learning Support Team, parents, and external professionals, you will help ensure the pupil can fully access learning, achieve their individual targets, and develop confidence, independence, and wellbeing. You will also contribute to supporting pupils across the wider classroom and school community.

Key Responsibilities

• Specialist 1:1 EHCP Support Provide dedicated one-to-one support for a pupil in line with their EHCP and individual targets. Deliver agreed interventions and support programmes, including those recommended by external professionals. Monitor, record, and evaluate progress, contributing to assessment and planning processes. Promote independence, self-esteem, inclusion, and positive engagement in learning.
• Teaching & Learning Support Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective learning experiences. Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning and achievement. Prepare and adapt learning resources to meet individual needs. Support educational visits and wider curriculum activities.
• Pastoral Care Promote positive behaviour and support pupils social and emotional development. Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment. Assist with supervision during break times, lunchtimes, and pupil transitions as required. Provide first aid if appropriately qualified.
• Communication & Collaboration Work collaboratively with teachers, learning support staff, parents, and external agencies. Maintain accurate records and communicate pupil progress and concerns appropriately. Uphold confidentiality and safeguarding responsibilities at all times.
• Professional Development Participate in training, performance reviews, and professional development opportunities. Contribute positively to the wider life of the school, including meetings and school events.
