Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Bracknell is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school. You will support pupils across the primary age range, helping to create an inclusive, engaging classroom where every child can reach their potential.

You will work closely with the class teacher to deliver lessons and provide tailored support for learners, including those with SEND and phonics interventions.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Bracknell. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting children's learning and development within a nurturing educational environment.

Working closely with the class teacher and wider school staff, you will play a key role in supporting pupils across the primary age range, helping to create a positive, engaging and inclusive classroom where every child can achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons across the primary curriculum.
  • Work with individuals and small groups of pupils to reinforce learning and improve progress.
  • Provide tailored support to pupils with a range of learning needs, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), where required.
  • Assist with the preparation and organisation of classroom resources and learning activities.
  • Promote positive behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy and encourage pupils to develop confidence and independence.
  • Support pupils with literacy, numeracy and phonics interventions.
  • Assist with classroom displays and maintaining an organised, stimulating learning environment.
  • Supervise pupils during breaktimes, lunchtimes, educational visits and other school activities as required.
  • Record pupil progress and provide feedback to the class teacher.
  • Foster positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents and carers, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Ensure the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils by following school policies and procedures.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Experience working with children within a primary school or educational setting.
  • A positive, patient and caring approach to supporting children's learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Confidence supporting pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2.
  • A flexible and proactive attitude with a willingness to adapt to the needs of the school.
  • A good standard of literacy and numeracy.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND, including autism, ADHD or speech and language needs.
  • Knowledge of phonics programmes and intervention strategies.
  • Previous experience delivering small group interventions.
  • First Aid training (desirable but not essential).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
