Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in Basingstoke. You will work closely with teachers to provide targeted support for KS1 or KS2 students, promoting inclusion and confidence.

The role runs 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday, with a daily rate of £92.63. A DBS enhanced check and two references are required; temporary, long-term and permanent positions are available across local primary schools.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with primary children (KS1–KS2).
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Experience supporting SEN children is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Support individual pupils inside and outside the classroom.
  • Assist with classroom activities and resources.
  • Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support pupils with additional needs to develop emotionally and academically.

About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support 1:1 with a student who requires extra support. This may be with a KS1 or KS2 student, so we are looking for candidates who are flexible.

Start Date: September or October 2026

Salary: £92.63 a day

Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm Monday to Friday

To be considered you must obtain an enhanced child only DBS and provide two contact references.

A number of primary schools based in the Basingstoke area are seeking experienced Teaching Assistants to start from September. We have temporary, long term and permanent positions available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • A caring, patient, and adaptable approach
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience supporting SEN children is desired but not essential
  • A genuine passion for helping children learn and grow
  • Basic knowledge of safeguarding and child protection principles (CPD training provided)
