Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd is seeking a fluent Welsh-speaking Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term position at a Welsh Primary School in Blackwood (NP12). The role requires experience with Nursery/Foundation KS2 and the ability to work 08:30–15:30, with a focus on keeping pupils engaged and supporting learning.

The successful candidate will join a dedicated team, supported by CPD and market-leading pay, with safeguarding and DBS compliance as standard.

Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a fluent Welsh speaking Teaching Assistant on a full time, long term basis. The successful candidate will need to be able to speak the Welsh language fluently and will need to be experienced working with children in the Nursery class. You will need to be flexible between the working times of 08:30am - 15:30pm and be able to get stuck in with the schooling life, ensuring all pupils are engaged in their learning.

Qualifications and experience

• A Teaching Assistant/Childcare qualification OR at least 6 months experience working with children
• Fluent verbal and written Welsh
• Excellent communication and organisation skills
• Ability to build valued and trusted relationships with students
• A can-do, positive attitude and approach to their work
• Patience and ability to remain calm under stressful situations
