Job summary

The Education Network is seeking an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary special school in Birmingham for a September start. You will provide 1-2-1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs, helping them access learning and build confidence in a nurturing setting.

Working closely with teachers and specialists, you will support communication, social and emotional development, contribute to personalised learning activities and promote independence.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience supporting children with special educational needs.
  • Patient, caring and resilient approach.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
  • Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1-2-1 and small group intervention support.

  • Support delivery of engaging and personalised learning activities.

Job Role:
  • Supporting primary‑aged pupils with special educational needs in the classroom

The Successful SEN Teaching Assistant Will Have:

    • A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)
