Job summary

TeacherActive in Wolverhampton is recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant to support primary pupils with Autism/ASD, MLD/SLD and Speech and Language needs. This full-time, long-term role starts September and involves 1:1 and small-group support to help pupils overcome barriers and progress academically, socially and emotionally.

You will work as part of a dedicated team in a nurturing SEND environment, with opportunities for CPD, competitive daily pay and ongoing consultant support during onboarding

Salary: £95 - £115 per day

The school provides a nurturing and inclusive environment where every pupil is encouraged to develop academically, socially and emotionally through tailored support and engaging learning opportunities.

The school is looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis with an immediate start. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will work closely with pupils with Autism / ASD, Moderate Learning Difficulties / MLD, Severe Learning Difficulties / SLD and Speech and Language needs, providing both 1:1 and small group support while promoting independence and positive outcomes.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND
• A genuine passion for helping pupils with additional needs succeed
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• A patient, nurturing and resilient approach
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Team Teach or Makaton training is desirable but not essential
